October 25 was Saturday, the day of the week when they have no class at my son's kindergarten. I suggested to my son Mitaro we go to Kyoto to see and ride a tender engine, and he was extremely happy at the idea. I took all the twenty-three pictures on this page on the occasion. You could tell how happy my son was being with me, which in turn means he had felt lonely without much of me around him these days. Your heart smarts at the idea of such a little one's sufferings, which must be far greater than we adults expect them to be. I am sorry, my son. You are my life. I truly love you.

aboard the train pulled by the tender engine

The engine at the back below is the one that pulled our train. We rode it twice this day.

We rode this toy train four times or so this day!

below: On our second ride on the real thing.

We came back late this evening. Sorry Mom.
